Bartimaeus On The Road

Today, when reading Mark 10:46-52...the blind beggar, Bartimaeus, was found sitting on the side of the road in Jericho. He was sitting still, waiting and resting until Jesus arrived on the scene. Then, he began shouting for Jesus' attention. He knew the Messiah was present and that He had the power to do something no other man could do.

Bartimaeus was so convinced of His presence and power that he repeatedly called out HIS name. He requested the Lord to have mercy upon him. His spirit was stirred. He didn't sit there quietly either. He got the Messiah's attention. When the people were trying to shut him up...he got called up.

We alike are also sitting, resting and waiting for Jesus to arrive on the scene. We desire His attention more than ever! We at Mylonn Ministries know Jesus has the power to do something in our ministry no other individual can do!

We are also convinced of His mighty presence and power. Therefore, it is necessary for us to repeatedly call out HIS name. We seek and desire His mercy and compassion. May our spirits become so stirred that we rise up and cry out with one goal in mind - to gain the Messiah's attention!

Now, it will take the same word found in this story - COURAGE! (Mostly because it is amazing how the devil will always have someone available to tell us why we shouldn't expect to get RESULTS when petitioning God.) You see, if this fellow would have listened to the crowd, he would have missed his opportunity. However, this beggar wasn't passive. No, he was rather bold and loud.

Notice, how the story ends. Jesus asked Bartimaeus, "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO FOR YOU?" He answered specifically!

I am astounded at his cry, his prayer, his persistence, his faith and his answer. He did not give up. He called out again and again. He would not stop until he could talk to Jesus. And???? Because he believed - "Immediately he received."

You see, many people believe that God can perform the miracle they need. However, few are willing to actively pursue it until they get results. This man had his attention focused only on Jesus. Nothing else mattered, and that was why he was healed.

Our attention focuses only on Jesus. Nothing else matters. Let's throw down our blanket, jump up and get to Jesus. Don't allow opposition to shut up our prayers. Now, is the time to pray. Our goal is to become noticed by the ONE who matters - His name is Jesus.

I believe God wants to call out our name! I also believe He wants to grant us immediate results to our heart's cry. Our greatest desire should be for Jesus to say to Mylonn Ministries, "Go thy way; thy faith has made thee whole." Why? So, we can do the same thing the beggar did - follow Jesus on the road.

The question is not - will you pray...but, where will the road of prayer take us?

Amen?!
